The Premium Fire Hose Tug is a refined version of a familiar Bolder K9 favorite.
While we’ll continue offering our Upcycled Fire Hose Tugs, this limited-release version is built from new, premium-quality fire hose selected for its consistency, durability, and clean construction. Paired with 3/4" Super Heavy BioThane handles, it’s a rugged interactive tug made for training, engagement, and play.
Available in two sizes, each tug is premade and ready to ship faster than our made-to-order gear.
Premium Fire Hose Construction
These tugs are made from new 1-1/2" single-jacket fire hose with a tightly woven polyester exterior and durable synthetic rubber lining.
The material is:
- Abrasion-resistant
- Flexible and lightweight
- Resistant to mildew
- Consistent in feel and construction
- Built from new material with no previous service history
Our Upcycled Fire Hose Tugs remain a practical way to give retired hose a second life. The Premium Fire Hose Tug offers a different option for handlers who prefer the consistency and finish of newly manufactured material.

8" Fire Hose Tug — One Handle
A compact 8" bite area with one 3/4" Super Heavy BioThane handle.
Its smaller profile is easy to carry and works well for reward-based training, engagement sessions, and quick play between repetitions.
12" Fire Hose Tug — Two Handles
A longer 12" bite area with a 3/4" Super Heavy BioThane handle on each end.
The added length and dual-handle design give handlers more control and more room for interactive tugging.
Super Heavy BioThane Handles
Every Premium Fire Hose Tug is finished with 3/4" Super Heavy BioThane handles.
BioThane provides a durable, waterproof grip that won’t absorb moisture or odors and wipes clean after muddy or wet training sessions.
It’s a straightforward combination: premium fire hose for the dog and dependable BioThane for the handler.

Premium Fire Hose Tugs are made ahead of time and stocked in limited batches.
Because they’re premade, they qualify for Quick Ship with a processing time of 2–3 business days.
Available inventory will be updated as new batches are completed.
Limited-Time Offering
The Premium Fire Hose Tug is a limited-time addition to the Bolder K9 lineup.
Quantities are limited, and availability may vary between the 8" and 12" configurations. When a batch sells out, stock will be replenished as additional tugs become available.
As these are made from real fire hose, they may have numbers/writing on them regarding pressure allowances.
Built for Interactive Work
The Premium Fire Hose Tug is designed for supervised training, engagement, and interactive play.
It is not intended to be left with a dog as an unsupervised chew toy.
Simple, durable, and made from carefully selected materials, it’s a premium alternative to our Upcycled Fire Hose Tug—not a replacement for it.

You can cancel your order within 24 hours of placement without additional charges, as long as the order has not been made, packaged or shipped. After 24 hours, we do not accept cancellations. If you believe you have extenuating circumstances, please contact us as soon as possible at info@bolderk9.com.
We do not offer refunds or free replacements for accidental damage such as chewing or wear and tear. We do offer replacements for any defects to materials. We do offer exchanges on our harnesses.

How do I care for my BioThane® gear? +
BioThane® is waterproof, odor-resistant, and easy to maintain. Most dirt wipes off with warm water and mild soap. For heavier messes, soak in diluted oxiclean (unscented), then rinse and dry thoroughly. We recommend avoiding prolonged exposure to strong DEET-based insect repellents, which may affect the coating over time.
What if my dog chews through an item? +
Our gear is designed for durability, but no product is chew-proof. Damage caused by chewing is not covered under warranty. If something happens unexpectedly, reach out — we’re always happy to review the situation and see what options may be available.
What is considered normal wear and tear? +
Normal wear includes cosmetic signs of use such as minor scuffs, scratches, fading, or coating wear on hardware over time. Black hardware may naturally show silver underneath with regular use — this is expected and cosmetic only. Wear from chewing, misuse, improper storage, or unsafe restraint is not covered.
How much is shipping and how long will my order take? +
Our production time for most orders is 2-3 weeks unless otherwise specified. Once shipped, delivery typically takes 1–5 business days depending on location. Shipping rates are calculated at checkout, with free shipping available on orders over $75. Need it sooner? We also offer expedited processing options when available.
How are your products packaged? +
Orders are packaged simply and intentionally to protect your gear while minimizing waste. We focus on practical packaging that gets your order safely to you — nothing excessive.
Do you offer returns or exchanges? +
Because most items are handmade to order, we generally do not accept returns on custom gear. If there is a sizing issue, please contact us — we’ll always do our best to help find a solution. If there is an issue with workmanship or a mistake on our end, we’ll make it right.
Can I cancel my order? +
Orders may be canceled within 24 hours of purchase. After that, production may already be underway and cancellations are no longer guaranteed.
Do you offer wholesale pricing? +

Yes — BioThane® is fully waterproof and made for muddy trails, rainy walks, dock diving, and everyday adventure. It won’t absorb water, hold odor, or stay soggy like traditional materials.
